6 Months

Well Wilson is actually 6 1/2 months old now, I am just a super super slacker on posting lately. We went to the doctor and he weighs an amazing almost 19 lbs. WOW!!! He is 75th percentile in both weight and head, but between 75-90 for height. You would not believe how many comments I get about his not missing any meals. Yep he is a big squishy adorable boy. He is healthy and doing well. He has been sitting up on his own for a good month now. We are still working on the rolling over from back to from. I think his weight has something to do with that. It is a lot of work trying to roll that over! So no crawling of anything yet. And thank heavens I just am not ready for that. I know it is going to come sooner than I want no matter what I do. So here cute boy is sitting up!

Also, in the last month and a half Wilson has started solids! As you can see here not always his favorite thing, but slowly he is starting to really like them!

No Tomatoes this year...

So thanks to my wonderful neighbor Laraine and adorable husband I decided to plant not only a flower garden, but a vegetable garden! Wow I sure had no idea how much work both kinds of gardens are. Not only am I trying to take care of my little guy, but trying to water and weed two gardens is hard work. Well needless to say Wilson comes first, then watering and if I have time I weed. Well I am sure you can guess what has happened to my gardens. Still I am trying.

So this is a picture of my sad flower garden. Never in my life have I cared about flowers, but for some reason now I do. No thanks to our clay like dirt I am still trying to a nice garden. With the help of my wonderful neighbors including one who gave me starter plants this is what it looks like so far. Next year I am thinking of digging up all my clay and replacing it with real dirt, but we will see what happens.

These are probably my favorites at the moment. They are called flax and they are so simple and sweet and oh yes purple!

Now as for my vegetable garden. I am sure you can see all of the weeds from the picture, what what you can't see are the snails. Well I can't see them either, but they are all four well five of my tomato plants. Ryan loves tomatoes and is so sad that our garden will not have any. Sad I know, but I don't want to keep replacing them for the snails to eat.

So You Think You Can Dance

Well I love love love this show and I can't tell you how happy I am that it is finally back on! It is kinda weird since I have never danced, but for some reason I love it! I can't wait to post blogs about contestants and dances that I love. Here is looking to the future!

Where have I been?

It seems like I go in stages with blogging. Like for a while I will be really good and blog a lot and then I will have some dry spells. I am in one of those right now. I got a new camera and haven't loaded the software so that is part of my problem and the other is that I read on someones blog about people posting pictures of their kids and then someone tries to take them. And if you know anything about me I am super paranoid and so now I am scared to post pictures. And I really really don't want to make my blog private. So there is my dilemma. What should I do?

Well as for all we have been up... not much. We went and saw Star Trek on Monday. It was awesome. Ryan isn't a Star Trek fan but still liked it. I on the other had love Star Trek so I thought it was pretty cool! We haven't really been seeing movies lately because of the little one, but are glad to announce that he did well at the movies so now we can stay on top of all the new ones coming out and man are there a lot of good ones. We are super exicited! Next on our list is Angels and Demons (I am super excited for that one!).

Happy Anniversary!

Ryan and I have now been married for 4 years! It is crazy how time flies, but at the same time I can't believe it has only been 4 years. It feels like I have known Ryan for forever! The last four years have been filled with so much. We have been on vacations (New York, Disneyland, Las Vegas, Cruise) we have both graduated from College (Ryan did twice!), we have been blessed with a beautiful baby boy, we bought a house, we have two kitties. I couldn't imagine a better person to spend the rest of eternity with! I am so thankful that Ryan picked me to marry. I love him more and more each day and eternity doesn't feel like long enough to be with him. I love you Ryan and here is to many more years of happiness!

A Wonderful Mother!

Hi folks, Ryan here. I just wanted to take a moment to talk about what a wonderful wife I have on this Mother's Day. But since I ain't done no good at no writin' no how, I'm gonna up 'n have my boy do the composin' fer me.

I just wanted to say that I have the best mommy in the whole wide world. She is so sweet to me and patient and wonderful. She feeds me, she plays with me, she makes me happy when I'm sad and she makes me feel so safe when I'm scared. She keeps my belly full and makes sure I sleep well and makes me laugh and smile. I love her so much and I am so grateful that she is my mommy. I know many of you that read this are wonderful mothers, have wonderful mothers and will be wonderful mothers, but I definitely got the best one! Back to you, pop.

Thanks, boy. Well put. I just wanted to add that I think Mindi J. Hettinger is just a wonderful, special woman. She is a great friend, mother and wife and I am so glad I get the rest of eternity with her. She was put on this earth to help me raise our family and she is just a natural at motherhood. Here's to a special, kind, wonderful, beautiful, fun, smart, selfless, amazing woman on this Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day!

If I close my eyes and try to imagine what kind of mother I really want to be this is the image that comes to my mind. My mother. Wow she is amazing!!! It is sad to me that I never really understood just how amazing she is and always has been until almost 6 months ago. Through countless examples of kindness and motherly love that she shows so many people I have learned the kind of mother I want to be and it is just like her. My mother is the most caring, selfless and kind person I know. She would do anything for anyone if it would help not caring if they returned the kindness and many times they don't, but she always tells me she helped them because it was the right thing. It was what Heavenly Father wanted her to do.

There are so many things that I love about my mother. I love that she loves me unconditionally. I love how beautiful she is inside and out. I love her zest for life and everything it has to offer. I love her thirst for knowledge. I love how much she loves her grandchildren. I love how she sees the good in everyone. I love how much she loves cats! I love that I can call her anytime of day and she is so happy to talk to me. I love how she loves my dad. I love that she just gets me. I love that she cries when she sings her favorite songs. I love that you are my mom!

Happy Mother's Day Mom! Thank you for being that amazing mother that you are!

Missing in action

I'm sorry I haven't been blogging. Lets just say things haven't been going they way I would like them too. I promise to get back into it soon.

Happy 30th Birthday Ryan!!!

Monday was Ryan's 30th birthday! Wilson and I wanted to make his day special so we planned some surprises! First unexpectedly we had to take Ryan to work that morning. Wilson got so tired he fell asleep on the way there with his little tongue hanging out!

After we took Ryan to work we went home and picked up the balloon order we had placed the week before and yes we drove back to Ryan's work to surprise him. (In case you are wondering driving to Ryan's work is close to an hour round trip!) This is us as his office getting ready for the big surprise!

Next we headed to the Cheesecake Factory to pick up a surprise Cheesecake for dessert! We got chocolate peanut butter cookie dough and Adam's peanut butter cup fudge ripple (Delicious!). Then headed home.

My mom came over a few hours later and decorated our house with a list of Ryan's accomplishments. Accomplishments: Eagle Scout, Return Missionary, Wife and Son, Maters Degree, CPA, House! Then my mom stayed home so poor Wilson didn't have to spend another hour in the car while I went to pick up Ryan. Here he is finding his surprise!

At Ryan's request I made enchiladas for diner.

Then after a nice walk around the neighborhood we surprised Ryan with his cheesecake and sparkler candles! (These candles were actually like sparklers! In the picture they look like they are just on fire. I would highly recommend them. Lots of fun!)

Easter

This was Wilson's first Easter. Here he is in his Easter outfit (Thanks Emaw and Papa) with his new Easter book (I guess the Easter bunny knew if he gave him candy mom and dad would have to eat it).

My bedroom

I have been meaning to post picture of my bedroom for a long time, but have been waiting until it is clean. Well today I came to the realization that will never happen so I took pictures anyways. We painted our room six months ago and I barely finished hanging up the pictures.

Did Martha stop by?

I am far from Martha Stewart for sure. In fact I have never really been one to decorate. I remember talking to someone about their house just before we got ours and they were telling me that they were decorating. They had been using miss matched frames and on the same nails as the home owners before. I thought that was so funny, but I found myself doing it as soon as we moved in. Now that I spend my life mostly in our living room I found myself wanting it to look nicer. So for the past little while I have been trying to decorate. Check it out. Also, if anyone has any suggestions for what to put over my picture frames please share.

Two Kids?

Sometimes I feel like I am taking care of two kids instead of one. Accept the second is much faster and furrier that the first. Yep Jeeves. Ever since Wilson was born he has wanted to be the baby. He likes to take his stuff (i.e. Binky, nail clippers, blue snot sucker thing) and he likes to sleep on his stuff as you can see below. He has also started to chew on stuff a lot more than he used to I think to get attention.

Angels and Demons

A little while ago I wrote about how I watch way too much TV and vowed to read some books. Well I am happy to report that I read two books and started two. The first was Angels and Demons by Dan Brown. I was drawn to this book for three reasons. First because it by the same author as Da Vinci Code which I loved. Second I had tried to read this book like three times before, but never got into it and I finally wanted to finish it. And third because the movie is coming out it May and if I see the movie before reading the book I will never read it.

I am proud to say that I finally got hooked after about the first hundred pages. This book to me was almost as interesting at Da Vinci Code it moved just as fast and after I got into it I couldn't put it down. I loved all the twists and turns especially in the end. I loved learning more about the main character Robert Langdon. I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't read it, but if you like Da Vinci Code book or movie I would recommend this.

Once I read the book I decided to look at the previews online. I am sad to say that I figured out that the movie is a little different from the book. It is missing one important character in particular so it changes things I think significantly, however that being said I think the movie will still be good. I can't wait for it to come out!!!

The next book I read was called The Hunger Games. I am will post another time about my review of that.

I have a hard time finding books that keep my interest so if anyone out there has any recommendations. PLEASE PLEASE share!!!
