1. I have convinced myself that the phrases "Spring Fever" was coined by a stay at home mom who can't stand the last little bit of winter.
2. I think I might be waffle deficient. Yep I said waffle. I can't get enough of them lately. And I crave them (and I don't crave things).
3. I need a hobby. I have things that I do, but I need something that will fill in the little parts of my day where Wilson is actually off playing in his room and I am left to watch TV.
4. I watch too much TV.
5. Since I have started exercising somehow in my mind that translates to "eat whatever you want". So that is why I am not loosing weight.
6. It has taken almost 3 years, but I finally realize I need to decorate my house and I have no decorating sense. Good thing I have a good friend who does and is willing to help (pictures to come of what we have done so far).
7. I need to get working on our food storage.
8. I am going to miss watching the Olympics, but I have missed my shows so much!
9. I like Pam from the office much better before her and Jim got together.
10. Wilson's sleep has gotten (according to me) out of control. He doesn't got to bed on time and wakes up because the sun in shinning in his room. Please daylight saving come fast!
That is all my randomness for now.

Running
I just ran for 10 minutes straight! Some of you will probably think that is weak and could do that in your sleep, but I have never done that in my life and am so proud of myself. The first, but hopefully not the last.

Reading for the week

Last Friday my sister gave me some books to read that she had just finished. It is the Blue Bloods series by Melissa De La Cruz. She gave me four books in the series. I am sure there are more, but I don't know if they are out yet. Today I finished book 4. I couldn't put them down. They are way easy fast reads and really really good. They are of course about vampires. I don't know why I am drawn the the oh so popular topic, but I am! If you are too I would recommend this series. I can honestly say (and I don't know if it is because I just read them or if I am so tired of everything Twilight) but I liked them better. So a big recommendation. The only sad thing is that I feel like I have got back into my reading groove and now have nothing to ready. Any recommendations?

Personality
Wilson has such a cute personality and love to see it come shinning through. Tonight Ryan and I were watching tv and I noticed that Wilson kept laughing. So I look down and this is what he is doing! Enjoy!

Words
I was listening to Wilson talk today and thinking about how much I love to heard the new words he is forming. It made me think about the future and how I don't want to forget any second of watching him grow up. I thought it might be a good idea to make note of the words he is learning. So here they are in the order he learned them (if I remember correctly):
uh oh
dada
no (I bet you can't guess what he hears all the time...)
WOW!
I know
mama (still working on this one)
thank you
I hope to add more to the list soon!

And we are now private
So I can't tell you how good it feels to have my blog private. I feel safe and secure. I know who is reading the information I am putting out there and I love it! Like I said before since Wilson has joined us I have had this nagging feeling like I either should not put everything I want to on the blog or unsafe when I did put stuff out there because anyone could read it. So now I can put whatever I want! Thanks for joining us! I look forward to continuing my blogging and look forward to reading all of yours. If you would like me to take you off our reader list or change your email please let me know.
Lots of love!
Lots of love!

PEDAL
A poem I heard in church yesterday. Don't know who wrote it but it's definitely worth sharing.
PEDAL
“At first I saw God as my observer, my judge.Keeping track of the things I did wrong so as to knowwhether I merited heaven or hell when I die.He was out there, sort of like the President. I recognized His picture when I saw it but didn’t know Him.Later, when I came to know the Lord it seemed as thoughlife was rather like a bike ride.It was a tandem bike (2 person) and I noticed thatGod was in back helping me pedal.I don’t know just when it was that he suggested we change placesbut life has never been the same since.Life with the Lord, that is.God makes life exciting! When I had control, I knew the way.It was rather boring but very predictable. It was the shortest distance between two points. When He took the lead, he knew delightful long cuts,up mountains and through rocky places, at breakneck speeds! It was all I could do to hang on.Even though it looked like madness He said, “Pedal.”I was worried and was anxious and asked,“Where are you taking me?”He smiled and didn’t answer.I started to learn trust.I forgot my boring life and entered into the adventure. When I would say, “I’m scared” He leaned back and touched my hand.He took me to people with gifts that I needed, gifts of healing, acceptance and joy. They gave me their gifts to take on my journey…our journey…God’s and mine, and we were off again. He said, “Give the gifts away, they’re too much weight.”So I did, to the people we met.I found that in giving, I received and still our burden was light.I did not trust him at first…in control of my life.I thought He’d wreck it but He knows bike secrets. He knows how to make it bend, to take sharp corners, how to jump to clear high rocks and how to fly to shorten scary passages.I am learning to shut up and pedal in the strangest placesand am beginning to enjoy the view and the cool breeze on my facewith my delightful, constant companion, the Lord. When I’m sure I just can’t do it anymore He just smiles and says,“Pedal.”

What I see
I found this blog last night linked to someones blog that I look at and it is a picture blog. All their posts are pictures with a few words just showing what they see. And I LOVED the idea. I don't know that I can dedicate my whole blog to that, but some posts for sure. So here I go!
Nap times yesterday. I went to get Wilson and this is what I found!
I don't know that he slept well...
My little guy loves, loves his Binky!

Since discovering that our piano makes noise this is what he loves to do!
And my favorite for last! Curious little hands making beautiful music!

Books, books and more books
My dear sweet child has discovered a new love of books. And by new love I mean obsession. All of a sudden last Monday he brought a book to me (totally new had never done that before) and wined until I read it to him and that was just the beginning. Now countless times a day I get books brought to me and an upset baby if I don't read it right away. This picture to the side is a rare occasion when he was looking at the book by himself. Usually it has to be ready to him.
I think it is the cutest thing ever and I love that he loves books, but I can't tell you the relief I feel when Ryan gets home it is it his turn to read!

Private
For over a year now I have thought about making my blog private. Not because anything has happened to us, but because of Wilson. He is my main subject and I feel unsafe just putting all this info out for the world to read. Well it has taken me a while year to make this decision and finally today it is final.
I understand the frustration that comes with blogs going private because I sure do love to blog stalk and hate to see this post and I am sorry, but it is the right decision for me. I hope you understand.
I would love to send anyone that I know an invite so please don't hesitate to email me or leave a comment letting me know your email address.
Thanks for your understanding,
Mindi

Candy Factory Tour
Last week my niece and nephew were off track so their mom wanted to do something fun for them that would get them out of the house and she invited us to come along with them to the Sweets candy factory for a tour! It really was fun and interesting to find out how they made their candy. Wilson enjoyed the walking around well riding around in a stroller and completely enjoyed the bits of candy they gave us. Here are some fun photos. This is our whole group. Yes we had to wear hair nets to take the tour!
This is Wilson and aunt Sarah. I am sure you are wondering how I got him to leave his hair net on and well I don't really know. I moved his had away a couple of times and I think after a while he just forgot about it!
The tour lasted a good 40 minutes and he was tired by the end!

Resolution Season

I don't really ever remember making resolutions before or maybe I have and just didn't keep it and forced myself to forget. Whatever the case may be I have made resolutions this year and I am determined to keep them! The most important and of course the most popular one is to loose weight! I find myself actually weighing less than I did before I had Wilson but more uncomfortable with my body than ever. Those of you who have had children know what I am talking about and those who have not, well you just wait you will understand. So here I find myself uncomfortable and determined to do something about it. Ryan and I decided that I would be worth the money to invest in wii fit last week and I have to say that I love it! I don't enjoy it telling me everyday that I am overweight, but it is keeping me on track and mindful of what I eat so that is good! I have made an effort everyday this week and hope to continue. My focus is going to be eating right and exercise. I think my biggest challenge at the moment is find things to eat for lunch. By the time I actually get to eat I am so hungry I eat whatever is fast. So any suggestions that anyone has would be welcome. So that is it I am going to get in shape in 2010. Wish me luck!

Happy New Year!
This year we started off our New Years celebrations at Red Robin with my family!
Then went to Ryan's family to play games.

This is my nephew cheering our team on for winning!
On New Years we were able to visit with some old friends!
All in all New Years was lots of fun this year! Especially because we discovered that Wilson will sleep in his playpen! Happy New Years everyone. Here is to keeping my resolutions!

Christmas in review
Merry Christmas to all. I thought about blogging on Christmas day, but somehow the day went faster than I thought it would and so here we are. This Christmas has been fantastic. People are too kind and spending time with family has been the best part of it all.
On Friday I noticed the Jeeves had a large lump on his chin so after lots of tears and a trip to the vet we found out that he had probably been in a fight and now had an abscess under his chin that required surgery the following day to drain. And that he would heal just fine! These are pictures after the surgery. Jeeves is doing great now! He is still healing.
WARNING: theses pictures are kind of graphic)

Christmas for us has been a marathon that started the Sunday before and ended that Sunday after. Here is a review of the festivities
This was his first time opening presents since his birthday and he was not amused.

Jeeves has been very loving and kind and sleepy since the surgery. Here he is sleeping by Ryan on the couch which before was almost unheard of.

Then it was time to go home and go to bed. The following morning at about 8 am Wilson still wasn't awake, but we needed to wake him up to make time for every thing we needed to do that morning. Here he is still sleeping.
After a yummy breakfast of rice cereal and fruit it was time for our party to start. Here is Wilson's pile of presents.

Wilson got to sit with Daddy and get mad while he tried to get him to open presents. Still not amused by the wrapping Daddy did most of the work.

Once everything was opened Wilson enjoyed the presents he got!
Up next was a visit from Emaw, Papa and Poem.

Next it was time for a short nap and more visitors. Grandma, Grandpa, Jen, Sarah and Bayley!

Every year my mom makes pajamas for the kids. Here are most of them playing on the floor in them!

This is Wilson on the way home from there after I made the mistake of giving him a pen!

I really just wanted to add this picture in. Doesn't he look cute in my hat?

I am happy to report that Jeeves is almost better. He will probably have to wear his cone for another week or so but the Vet said he is looking good!

- Last Christmas party took place on Sunday at the Hettingers. Every year we act out the nativity scene. This year Ryan and I were going to play Mary and Joseph, but when we got their our neice Sadie (age 4) told me that she wanted to by Mary and I could be a wiseguy. She took her part very seriously as you can see below. And continued to play Mary the rest of the night and a few times took her baby doll and layed it by Ryan and talked about their cute baby!

I am happy to report that Jeeves is almost better. He will probably have to wear his cone for another week or so but the Vet said he is looking good!
