Happy Birthday Wilson!

Last Wednesday Wilson turned 1!!! Can you believe he is one. I still can't. Well this week has been a marathon of birthday celebrations! With the help of my dear sister I made 5 cakes. Yes count them 5 cakes. 3 were footballs (seen below) for Wilson. And two were for the parties that we had and they were football fields to go along with the footballs.

On Wednesday it was just Wilson, Ryan and I. Wilson and I went and picked Ryan up from work to have lunch! So fun. Then when Ryan got home from work. Wilson got his present from us. A walker!!! Which he cares more about the stuff on the front then to actually walk with it! We figure he will get it eventually! Than it was cake time!!!

To my surprise he dug right in! He had so much fun getting the frosting everywhere! He didn't actually like the cake part and didn't care to eat it...

On to birthday celebration number 2. My family came over for some soup and cake on Saturday night! By that time Wilson had a pretty long day and wasn't really interested in presents or cake. My dear mom made him the cutes Utah jacket, pants and blanket. I need to add a picture. Thanks so much to my family for coming and celebrating with us. Wilson loves all of his gits! Here is how the cake went on round number 2.

On to round 3 it was my mom's family's thanksgiving/birthday party. This is Wilson's cute cake. He was a little more into the cake this time!

And on to our last and final round 4. After having a yummy dinner at Ryan's parents house they came back to ours for more birthday fun! After a quick nap on the way home with was ready for some birthday fun! Here is is with his new #4 jersey which he is excited to wear for the big game on Saturday! And cake was a lot more exciting this time too! Thanks so much to Ryan's family for coming and sharing Wilson's birthday with us.

Thanks to everyone for the all the gift and birthday wishes. I can't believe my baby is one! He is growing so much everyday and I am so so so thankful that he is mine. I can't wait to see how much he grows this next year!

Kindness

Wilson and I took Ryan to work this morning and as we were driving home I witness an act of kindness that touched my heart. We were stopped at a light right next to pioneer park. And well I am a bit of a people watchers so I was looking out the window and the first thing I noticed was a man curled up next to a tree sleeping. Then I started to notice the other people around him several that looked homeless others waiting for the bus and then I noticed a woman walking down the street that didn't fit in at all. She was in her late 40's with a nice black and white dress on with really cute boots and she was carrying something. My first thought was that it was a bag and maybe she was taking the bus or walking to work. As I watched her walk a little more I saw her unfold what I could now see to be a blanket and lay it over the man sleeping beside the tree. I noticed that as she laid it over him she didn't say anything to him and he didn't say anything back and she walked away.

What an impact. As I drove home it made me think about if I would ever do something like that. I don't know that I would have, but now I hope that I will. I want to be the kind of person to cares so much for other people. I have so much and should share it. I hope that everyone can remember especially in this holiday season how fortunate you are and how many people are in need. And that this season shouldn't be about how much money you spend or how many gifts you get it should be about family and friends and be grateful for what you do have.

Wilson's First Halloween!

I can't believe Halloween has come and gone this whole year has gone by so fast and Wilson is almost one!!! This year for Halloween Ryan's mom grew pumpkins in her garden and there was one that was special for Wilson. Here we are carving it. Wilson is in the background helping us out!

The Young Woman and Young Men do our ward trunk or treat which this year was the Tuesday before Halloween. This is Wilson and his good friend Bryton!

This is my and all my Young Woman!

On Friday we went and visited Ryan and work and did some good trick or treating there!

This is Wilson and Willis. They were born the same day only about 2 hours apart!!!

And that is it. I still haven't actually taken pictures of Wilson in his costume so hopefully in the next couple of days I will post that! He was a cat if you couldn't tell. Well now we have a birthday party to plan!!!

Nephew

Don't worry I have a Halloween post in the making, but today I had the opportunity to do a shoot with my nephew. I actually really got into photography when he was really small and have some fantastic photos of him. I haven't had the chance to take much since until today. It was just me and him and Wilson. Things turned out better than I thought and I wanted to share them. So here you go!!!

Photo Shoot

Well I don't know how many people know this, but I love photography. I try to hard to be one myself and well lets say it is a work in progress. I have a friend that lives across the street with a little boy a little younger than Wilson. Well today we decided to go do a photo shoot at a pumpkin patch. I honestly wasn't impressed with my work, but I did get some really cute photos!

Baby weight

Well if you have seen me lately then it is no secret that I need to loose some weight. Ryan and I decided that starting today we will try this together. And I thought that if I blogged about it then maybe it would help me to be more committed to it so I guess we will see. Here are my goals

- drink only water
- no eating after 8 pm
- exercise 3 times a week for at least 30 minutes
- make healthier food choices
- no dessert every night (I am really sad to loose this one)

So there you have it. I hope that by doing these small things I will not only loose weight, but get in the habit of all of this to stay healthy all the time not just now. I hope so much that I can stick with this.

Longest blog post ever....

This post is a long time in the making. Ryan had to go out of town last week for work and so about two weeks ago I decided to plan a project to surprise him! So this is a small recap of my week last week.

Starting with Sunday night when we dropped Ryan off at the airport. So sad. He was gone from Sunday night until Friday night. Needless to say I was getting ready for a hard week ahead of me. And little did Wilson know that he wouldn't be seeing daddy for a while.

So we got home I put the baby to bed and got to work. Here is our kitchen before! Sunday night I took all the door's off and started to take the hinges off. By the end my hand was killing me (I had to do it all by hand).

So here is no door and no drawers. Please don't mind the mess that it created and don't notice how messy our cupboards are with no doors.
Monday morning we took the door and drawers over to my dad (he was soooooo soooo kind and he sprayed them so they would look so nice!). Then I think it was Thursday by the time I got the primer from dad so I could prime everything left at home. Tammy was soo soo kind to take Wilson while I did it. Funny story. I told her I only needed an hour and I was surprised when I was done in a hour. I went and got him then came home to take this picture and when I looked at it I noticed something looked wrong. Can you find it?
Yep that is right I totally missed the entire bottom half. So that night after I put the baby to bed I had to paint some more.
Here is everything primed finally! And TADA!!!!! The final product. Dad was so kind to come out Friday and put on hinges and hang everything. And he did it all. By Friday Wilson was so stuck to me thinking I might leave him too, and having a week that was totally messed up with hardly any naps that I couldn't put him down.
If you ignore the dishes and random things in the room and image that they have nice knobs it looks 100 times better! THANKS DAD!

So my dad spent all week painting for me. Most of Friday at my house finishing and then took Wilson and mom and I to dinner. What a great dad!!!

Friday night we went and picked up Ryan and went home. It took Ryan from I think 9 until 11 before he even went in the kitchen to notice my surprise and I am so glad that he really likes it!

Saturday we got to relax for a little bit and then it was time to take the big boy to his first UTAH football game!

He did so much better than I thought he would. He spend most of the game just hanging out. My favorite part was when he stood in front of me holding on to the chairs in front of us and when the crowd would cheer he would start to scream oh and try to pull the hair of the guy in front of us. People around us were so kind and nice to him!

And last picture. Yesterday I decided that Wilson's hair was getting too long so I borrowed our friends clippers and clipped away. It went a little shorter than I wanted but it still looks good.

And since he got his dad's hair it will grow back in like two weeks.

ATTACK!

Wilson often enjoys putting his toys in his mouth. In fact that is pretty much what he always does. Well yesterday I was lucky enough to have the camera ready while he "played" with his cute money Rachel and Brandon gave him in the hospital! Precious isn't he?!?!?!

I feel like so much is going on in life, but at the same time nothing is. I know that doesn't make sense, but I feel like I often don't make sense so that is okay.

Wilson is growing so much. He now scoots everywhere around the house! He still hasn't figured out that crawling would be faster, but that is okay by me cause I can still keep up with him. He has also learned how to sit up from laying on his stomach and how to pull himself up on stuff. If feels like everyday he is doing something new! He is so much fun and exciting to have around!

Other than all of that I guess life is just the same. This last month has been really busy for Ryan at work and there have been many days he has had to work late. Young Woman's has been going well for me we have finally got more people called in to help which is a big weight off my shoulders! I am going to be tutoring some girls to help them pass their GED this week and next which I am so excited about. I miss math (weird I know, but I have always loved math).

Oh and of course Football season is here! Ryan and I went to the first UTAH game last week. It was so much fun! The stadium was packed and of course we won!!! GO UTES!!!
